Bill would allow strong beer, wine sales in grocery stores

58b206bcdf8bf-magnifiedOf greater concern to Kaiser and retailers on both sides of the issue is House Bill 2282, which would allow grocery and convenience stores to obtain licenses to sell wine as well as beer with an alcohol content of more than 3.2 percent.

Liquor sales still would be exclusive to existing liquor stores, and they also would be allowed to sell other items under the proposal.
